Vernon Chester Redfern

Vernon Chester Redfern Portsmouth, RI - Vernon Chester Redfern, 97, of 112 Indian Avenue, Portsmouth, RI, died Friday, August 8, 2008 at the Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Doris Pike Redfern. Born in Pascoag, RI, on June 5, 1911, he was the son of the late Herbert E. and Theo Crosby Redfern.Mr. Redfern had worked as a mechanical designer for many years for Gulton Industries, retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Harmony Lodge of Masons and the Lions Club both of Warwick. He is survived by three sons Steven Redfern of Dunedin, FL, David Redfern of Palm Harbor, FL, and Paul Fedfern of Queensland, Australia, a daughter Nancy Lunn of Ashaway, RI, six grandchildren, and his friend Ruth Simpson of Portsmouth. He was also the brother of the late Newton Redfern and Alden Redfern.Funeral services and burial will be private.
