Portsmouth, RI - Victor Francis Regine, 78, of 445 East Main Road, Portsmouth, died Monday, June 7, 2004 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.He was the husband of Rosemarie Capuano Regine. Born in Warwick, RI on August 14, 1925, he was the son of the late Louis Joseph and Celia Zarrella Regine. Mr. Regine was a former summer resident of Middletown and North Providence, RI, prior to moving to Portsmouth in 1984. He served in the United States Army, in Japan during World War II. He was a 1944 graduate of La Salle Academy and very involved with its alumni association. He also attended Brown University and URI. Mr. Regine owned and operated Rex Fiance Company in Providence, RI and was the developer of Glenn Farms and Oakland Farms. He was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church, a former member of Metacomet Country Club in East Providence, RI and a member of Wanumetonomy Golf Country Club. Mr. Regine was an avid and competive golfer on many of the New England courses, where he enjoyed playing with his wife. Besides his wife of 54 years, he is survived by his son Robert L. Regine of Portsmouth, RI, his daughter Sally Ann Regine of Nashua, NH, his brother Louis Regine of West Palm Beach, FL, his sister Carmel Salafia of Middletown, RI, and his two grandchildren Robert L. Regine Jr. and Kara Ann Regine both of Portsmouth, RI.His funeral will be held on Friday, June 11, 2004, at 9:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial with full Military Honors will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
