Viola Margarita Mckinney

Newport, RI - Viola Margarita McKinney, 97, of Newport, died Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Bayberry Commons Pascoag, RI. Born in Newport, RI on August 3, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Argia Z. (Gramolini) Quattrucci. Mrs. McKinney was a 1933 graduate of Rogers High School. She was a communicant of St. Josephs Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality. Mrs. McKinney was a member of AARP, Middletown Senior Center, the Edward King House Senior Center, and the Forum Lodge Sons of Italy. She is survived by her son Ronald McKinney of Winter Park, FL, and her daughter Joanne Upham of Warwick, RI, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Aldo Quattrucci and Concetta Fucille.Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 10:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:00am to 10:00am in the funeral home.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Donations in her memory may be made to St. Josephs Church Restoration Fund, Mann Avenue, Newport, RI 02840 or to the Schepens Eye Research Institute, 20 Staniford Street, Boston, MA 02114.
