Violet L. ?Penny? Post Greenman-Frenette, 68, of the St. Clare Home, Spring Street, died Saturday, November 5, 2005 at St. Clare Home in Newport, RI. Born in New York City, NY on January 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Post and the late Louise M. Rice Post. Penny enjoyed the outdoors and showed this by walking to her friends homes and sitting outside with them to visit. She loved to dance and listen to a variety of music. When it was time to relax, Penny would indulge in crossword puzzles, old movies, and her humor could be seen in her large collection of movies. She was an avid collector of bells and angels. Her collection of these could be seen all around her home. Her daughter and her late son in law Louise and George Walker Smith gave her most treasurd bell to her. Penny was an active member at St. Joseph?s Church and now joins her late husbands Francis Greenman and Frank Frenette, her parents Robert Louis Post and Louise Rice Post in Heaven. She is survived by her children Louise Smith and Abbie Riegel both of Newport, RI, Francis ?Frank? Greenman of Houston, TX, Robert T. Greenman of Worcester, MA, Wayne Greenman of Newport, RI, James Greenman of Florida, and Francis Frenette and Mark Frenette both of Newport, RI, her brothers William Post and his wife Dolores of New Milford, CT, and Raymond E. Post of Newport, RI, her aunt Marie Nulty of Florida, eleven granddaughters, ten grandsons, two great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, November 8 at 8:00am from Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in Jesus Saviour Church 509 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Clare Home, 309 Spring Street Newport, RI 02840.
