Portsmouth, - Virginia ?Ginny? Hudson, 61, of 61 Martens Road Portsmouth, died Saturday, October 11, 2003 at home. She was the wife of George R. Hudson. Born in Newport, RI on Aug. 2, 1942, she was the daughter of the late George and Cecelia Pomilla Leary. Mrs. Hudson was a graduate of Rogers High School. She went on to graduate from URI with a BS in Nursing. She worked as a staff nurse at Newport Hospital and then worked as a Nursing Instructor for the Newport Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Hudson worked for The Maher Center Jepson Lane Home as a Residential Instructor, she also worked for Looking Upwards Inc. as a Nursing Consultant. She later took a position doing data entry at Early Intervention.Mrs. Hudson was a former member of the Parents Advisory Committee for the Boys and Girls Club of Newport. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Good News Kids in Newport. She was a founding Queen Mum of the Beach Rose Society Chapter of the Red Hatters of Portsmouth.. Besides her husband she leaves 2 daughters Michele R. Haskell of East Greenwich, RI, and Danielle E. Hudson of West Warwick, RI, 2 brothers Thomas Leary of Newport, RI, and Robert Leary of Warwick, RI, 3 Grandchildren Several Nieces And Nephews She was also sister of the late George Leary and Georgianna ?Helen? Nutter Funeral Services will be held Thursday October, 16, 2003 at 9:00AM from the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Island Annex Cemetery in Newport. Donations in her memory may be made to the James L. Maher Center Jepson Lane Home Vacation Fund 620 Jepson Lane Middletown, RI 02842 or to Hospice Outreach 502 Bedford Street Fall River, MA 02720 or to the American Cancer Society 222 Richmond Street Suite 200 Providence, RI 02903.
