Virginia A. ?Ginnie? Shaw, 72, died on Monday, March 7 in Roger Williams Hospital, Providence, RI. Born May 11, 1932, in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of Dr. Roy E. and Mabel Quilter Ellsworth. She was a 1950 graduate of Franklin, MA High School, and attended the University of Pennsylvania in 1950-51. After her marriage in February, 1955 to Nathan R. Shaw, she was a stay-at-home mother between 1955 and 1975. After that, she worked between 1975 and 2000, first as a retail clerk, then most prominently as a home health care CNA at various locations in RI and MA until her retirement. She lived briefly in Alabama and Utah, then Franklin and Wrentham, MA, then Portsmouth, RI, and for the last 25 years, at Prudence Island, RI. For the six months preceding her death, she lived in Cranston, RI.She leaves her sons Steven G. Shaw of Wrentham, MA, and Bruce E. Shaw of Prudence Island, RI and his wife Judy, a daughter, Dawna L.Wolf, of Cranston, RI, two brothers Sumner E. Ellsworth of Prudence Island and Lee E. Ellsworth of Franklin, MA and his wife Carol, and a sister, Barbara E. Storey of Hadley, MA and her husband David. She also leaves 11 grandchildren Jason Shaw, Joshua Shaw, Nathan Shaw, Steven Shaw, Kaylan Shaw, Alicia and Roy Shaw, Justin Wolf, John ?Jay? Wolf, Krystin Wolf, and Jordan Wolf, two great- grand children, Michaela Shaw and Gauge Shaw, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband Nathan R. Shaw, her son Mark Shaw, her granddaughter Kristen Shaw and her brother John Jay Ellsworth. Memorial donations may be made to the Prudence Island Volunteer Fire Department, Prudence Island, RI 02872.
