Walter E. Cullmann

Middletown, RI - Walter E. Cullmann, 89, of 211 West Main Road, Middletown, RI, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Marion Charlotte Christian Cullmann.Born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 16, 1919, Mr. Cullmann served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years as a Warrant Officer. He served in WWII and Korea, and he was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. He was a member of the Church of God, was the former owner of the Terminal Coffee Shop in Newport, was a retired RI Public Transit Authority employee, and he was the co-owner of Serene Ceramic Studio.He is survived by his three daughters, Linda J. Elder of Middleburg, FL, Cynthia M. Patrick of Orange Park, FL, Ruth I. Rodrigues of Warwick, RI and their families including ten grandchildren, and additional family members including niece, Joann Adams and her family. His funeral will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008, at 2:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
