Walter R. Grant

Portsmouth, RI - Walter R. Grant, 44, of Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at home. Born in Providence, RI on January 17, 1963, he was the son of Patricia St. Germain Hines of Tiverton, RI and the late Raymond V. Grant III. Mr. Grant was a store clerk at Shaw's Supermarket for many years. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers and sisters, Susan St. Germain of Providence, RI, Patricia L. Soscia of Cranston, RI, Deborah Flores of St. Bernadino, CA, David Grant of Lincoln, RI, Michael Grant of Pawtucket, RI, Elizabeth Van Hale of St. Paul, MN, and Hannah Lusignan of West Warwick, RI, his aunt and uncle, Deborah and John Thompson of Narragansett, RI and several nieces and nephews.He was the brother of the late Raymond V. Grant IV. His funeral will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 9 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Joseph Church, Broadway at Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in West Greenwich.Calling hours will be held the morning of the funeral from 8-9 am in the funeral home.
