Warren Augustus Davis

Portsmouth, - Warren Augustus Davis, 81, of 4 Scotty Drive Portsmouth, died Friday, November 29, 2002 at Waterview Villa East Providence, RI.He was the husband of the late Jennie Simmons Davis. Born in Newport, RI on May 4, 1921, he was the son of the late Ernest and Alice Pinheiro Davis. Mr. Davis was a Staff Sgt. for 4 years in the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in Okinawa. Mr. Davis participated in the Air Offensive over Japan, Eastern Mandates, Ryukyus. Mr. Davis worked for the New York/New Haven/Hartford Railroad as a damage clerk and a frieght inspector from 1937 to 1964.. He worked at the Officers Club and Datum Club on the Newport Navy Base. He is survived by three brothers Richard Davis, Herbert Davis, and Don Davis, all of Middletown, RI, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Monday, December 2, 2002, at 10:00am, in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
