Wayne Charles Smith, Sr

Wayne C. Smith, Sr., 59, of Narragansett, passed away May 12, 2015 after battling a long illness.He was born August 10, 1955 to the late Everett W. Smith and the late Joan M. (Fontaine) Smith.As a boy he spent many a day on the water at Castle Hill. He had a great love of the sea and spent a good deal of his life as a fisherman working for Anthony's Seafood in Newport, as well as, out at sea on the fishing fleet and at Fox Seafood in Narragansett. Later in his life he served as a counselor for the Mission at Galilee.He is survived by his step-mother, Phyllis Smith; son Wayne C. Smith, Jr.; grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua Smith; sisters, Judy Sullivan, Wendy Couturier, and step-sister Loreen Baker; and many nieces and nephews.He is predeceased in death by his parents and brother, Stephen Smith.Service will be private at the request of the family.Donations in his memory may be made directly to the Mission at Galilee, 268 Kingstown Road, Narragansett, RI 02882.
