William Charles Griswold

Portsmouth, RI - William C. Bill Griswold, Sr., 65, of 284 Corys Lane, Portsmouth, RI, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at St. Annes Hospital, Fall River, MA. Born in Newport, RI on April 22, 1945, he was the son of the late Arthur E. and Mary K. Doyle Griswold.Bill worked for the past eighteen years for Electric Boat in Groton as a draftsman. He was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church in Portsmouth. He is survived by his children, Christina M. Hill of Rollinford, NH, William C. Griswold of New Marlet, NH, Patrick X. Griswold of North Providence, RI, Mary E. Manley of Norwich, CT, Edmond T. Griswold of Winchester, MA, and Rosemary A. Sanchez of Lake Geneva, WI. He also leaves ten grandchildren. Bill was the brother of Daniel E. Griswold, Peter D. Roberts, Maurice E. Roberts, Mark T. Roberts all of RI and Kathleen M. Doyle of NH, as well as eight nephews and 11 nieces. He was preceded in death by his brothers James F. Roberts III and Matthew T. WeirCalling hours will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011, from 10-11:30am in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, followed by a Memorial service at 11:30am.
