William Clayton Simmons Cranston, - William Clayton Simmons, 54, of 165 Holland Street, Cranston, formerly of Middletown, RI, died Friday, July 30, 2004 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI.He was the husband of the late Veronica L. Johnson Simmons. Born in Portsmouth, VA, on May 27, 1950, he was the son of Clayton William and Daisy Simmons Porter. Mr. Simmons worked for Frito-Lay as a truck drive for over 10 years. He also worked at Electric Boat. He is survived by two sons William K. Simmons of Middletown, RI, and Aaron C. Simmons of Charlotte, NC, four brothers Walter Perryman of Virginia, Michael Perryman of Virginia, William Porter of Sharon Hill, PA, and Eric Perryman of Virginia, eleven sisters Joyce Turner of Tiverton, RI, Sandra Mills of Canton, MS, Brenda Perryman of Chesapeake, VA, Phyllis Reid of Virginia Beach, VA, Lisa Dixon of Waynesborough, PA, Yvette Perryman of Milwaukee, WI, Donna Hampton of Chespeake, VA, Linda Collins of Sharon Hill, PA, Nancy King of Sharon Hill, PA, and Gwendolyn Porter of Sharon Hill, PA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at 11:00AM in the Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus F. Wheatland Boulevard, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Brown?s Lane, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Lupus Foundation.
