William E. Boiani, 64, of 18 Reardon Drive, Middletown, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at the Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Lisa Schmidt Boiani. Born in Fall River, MA on June 8, 1943, he was the son of the late William J. and Nancy Landoch Boiani.Bill attended Rogers High School. He began work at the age of 15 for Manuel Brothers Moving Company. He later began work for Bowler Moving Van and Storage where he worked for over 20 years. At Bowler, he started out as a mover, became a truck driver, and then rose to the position of head dispatcher. Since 1989, he has owned and operated his own moving company JJ WEB. Bill was an avid hunter and outdoorsman for 40 years. He enjoyed going to Vermont and Maine. He loved his home in Abbot, Maine where he spent countless hours quading, snowmobiling, and sitting quietly in the woods enjoying nature?s beauty. Mr. Boiani was an associate member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a lifetime member of the NRA, and the Cappy?s Hillside Association, as well as a sponsor of the Newport Rugby Club. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the RI Truck Owners Association, and the Massachusetts Movers Association. Bill was an avid sports fan rooting for the Yankees and the Green Bay Packers. Besides his wife of 15 years, he is survived by his son Bill Boiani and his wife Laura Swistak of Portsmouth, RI, his daughters Bridget Boiani and her husband Victor Browning of Middletown, RI and Dana Dutra of Cranston, RI, his grandchildren Jada Leann Browning, Rachel, Josh and Desiree Dutra. He is also survived by his brothers Michael A. Boiani of Bristol, RI, and Jerrold W. Boiani of Newport, RI and his sisters, Christine Anderson of Middletown, RI and Laurene M. Bowers of Groton, CT. He was the brother of the late Linda Robillard.His funeral will be held on Monday, December 24, 2007, at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00am in St. Lucy?s Church, East Main Road, Middletown. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2007, from 2-6 in the funeral home. Burial will be held in St. Columba Cemetery, Brown?s Lane, Middletown.
