William Ferreira

Portsmouth, - William Ferreira, 76, of 29 Pleasant View Avenue Portsmouth, died Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. He was the husband of Elizabeth Kelly Ferreira of Portsmouth. Born in Fall River, MA on October 24, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Anna Rego Ferreira. Mr. Ferreira retired from Gulf Chevron, Chelsea Terminal 20 years ago.He also served in the Marine Corps serving in World War II the South Pacific and the Asian Era. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Ferreira of Portsmouth, RI, three sons William Ferreira of Cranston, RI, David Ferreira of North Kingstown, RI, and James Ferreira of Portsmouth, RI, his daughter Nancy DeSousa of Little Compton, RI, three sister Rose Harris of Indiana, Antoinette Smith of Newport, RI, and Ann Bananto of Chicago, IL, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at 9:00am from Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
