Portsmouth, RI - William Scott Munroe, 56, of Fourth Street Portsmouth, died Friday, April 2, 2004 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center Providence, RI. He was the partner of Steven S. Turek. Born in Cleveland, OH on October 31, 1947, he was the son of Merle Munroe of Cleveland, OH and the late Jean Munroe. Mr. Munroe was a Director of training with Janco, where he has worked for twenty years. He was also a writer for Options magazine contributing to the entertainment section. William was a member of the Providence Gay Men?s Chorus and was also on the Board of Directors for the Cookie Place in Providence. William was involved with Summer Theater and toured with several theater groups.Mr. Munroe went to Bowling Green State University, where he received a degree in bachelor of liberal studies. He has also served in the Army during the Vietnam Era with the Military Intelligence, conducting interrogations of Prisoners of War. In addition to his partner Steven he is survived by his father Merle Munroe of Cleveland, OH, a brother Thomas Munroe also of Cleveland, OH, and a sister Michelle Suglio of Akron, OH. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2004, at 6:00PM in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
