Newport, RI - William Terpening, 69, of 50 Admiral Kalbfus Road, Newport, RI, died Friday, August 5, 2011 at home surrounded by his family.He was the husband of Karen Deasley Terpening.Born in Newport, RI on March 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Albert and the late Mary Grant Terpening.Mr. Terpening worked as a painter for the Newport Bridge Authority for over 20 years. He was a member of the Friendly Sons. He loved nothing more then spending time with his family and friends, and loved spending time on the water on his boat and enjoyed fishing. Besides his wife of 32, years, he is survived by his children, Justin Terpening of Hawaii, William Terpening, Jr. and his wife Nerry of Newport, RI, Debra Ann Brown of Pensacola, FL, and Elaine Dubell of Warren, RI, his step daughter Lisa Deasley of Newport, RI, his brothers Albert Terpening of Carson City, NV, and Allen Terpening of Warren, RI, and his granddaughters, Caryn Terpening and Ciera Terpening of Newport, RI, his Pomeranian Precious and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lillian Caron.He was the brother of the late Edward Terpening, Donald R. Terpening and Joseph Silvester.
