Middletown, RI - Wylma Billie Slavens Denson, 90, of Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at Newport Hospital.Born in Newports, Fifth Ward on April 8, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Fannie Baker Slavens. She was the loving mother to Donna D. Dilley of Warren, son-in-law Charles W. Dilley, grandmother of Christopher W. Dilley of Michigan and Paul M. Dilley of Illinois, as well as great grandson Spencer Elliott Dilley. She was the sister of the late Thomas Slavens. She was a retired librarian of NUSC on the Newport Naval Base and long time active member of the Edward King Center in Newport, where she enjoyed oil painting, line dancing, jewelry making and volunteering for many wonderful years.Funeral Services will be privateIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Edward King Center, 35 King Street, Newport, RI, 02840.
