Ydalis "Cheena" Perez

Ydalis A. "Cheena" Perez, 40, of Admiral Kalbfus Road, Newport, RI, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Village House Nursing Home with her family at her side.She was the wife of Trevyn Corea.Born in Puerto Rico on June 9, 1975, she was the daughter of Antonio Perez and Tirsa Maria Quinonez.Cheena was a housekeeper at the Newport Chalet on the Newport Naval Base and was a C.N.A. at St. Clare Home in Newport. She had a heart and passion for children and encouraged them to stay involved in community activities. She worked hard to support children even if it meant sleepless nights between jobs to ensure they had what they needed. She knew everyone and everyone knew her. Cheena always encouraged natural birth and education upon any young woman. The last few years of her life, she became a member of Cross Point Church and it gave her peace of mind.In addition to her husband and parents, she survived by her children, Jessica Perez, Chanel Neal, Shaun Perez, Jessinel Perez, and Trevyn Corea, Jr.; her sister, Julinda Perez; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Craig Neal, Jr. and Joseph Perez.A celebration of her life service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Cross Point Church, 14 Rhode Island Avenue, Newport, RI.
