Newport, RI - Yvonne Marie Elder Clinton, 66, of 22A Coddington Street, Newport, RI, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. Born in Chicago, IL on Nov. 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Inez Knighten Elder.Mrs. Clinton was a dedicated and faithful Jehovahs Witness. She was an avid bowler, loved entertaining and cooking for others. She is survived by her children, Parrish S. Clinton, Sr. of Fall River, MA, Julian C. Clinton of Newport, RI, April D. Clinton of Memphis, TN and Tamika L. Clinton of Baltimore, MD, her brother Charles Elder of Chicago, IL, her sisters Lavern Reese and Nancy Branker of Chicago, IL, and her six grandchildren, Deaven C. Clinton, Akeen E. Clinton, Parrish S. Clinton, Jr., Xavier Clinton, Jordan V. A. Clinton and Armandi Clinton.She was the sister of the late Josephine Elder. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 12:00 noon, in the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, 36 Hillside Avenue Newport.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2010 from 10-11:30 in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be private.Donations in her memory may be made to the American Kidney Association, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
