Zulmira A. Garcia

Middletown, RI - Zulmira Adelina Garcia, 92, of 6 Casey Drive, Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Antonio Silveira Garcia. Born in the Fayal Azores, on January 1, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Jose Garcia and Filomena Adelina Garcia Moutoso.When she came to the United States in 1968, Mrs. Garcia worked at the commissary department on the United States Naval Base in the cafeteria for seven years. Mrs. Garcia was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church and its Rosary Solditary. She enjoyed embroiding and knitting for her family. She is survived by her son Jose Silveira Garcia of Middletown, RI, and her sister Resolina Garcia Moutoso Vargas of Pawtucket, RI. She was the sister of the late Jose Garcia Moutoso, Manuel Garcia Moutoso, Iduino Garcia Moutoso, Henrique Garcia Moutoso, Maria Adelina Garcia Laranja and Ana Adelina Garcia Escobar. Her funeral will be held on Monday, June 19, 2006, at 8:00a.m. from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00a.m. in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2006, from 4-6p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home.
