Help raise money for hospice care!

A man is swinging a golf club on a golf course.

There will be a fundraising golf tournament at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington on Friday, September 11th. Registration and lunch starts at 11:30am and the tournament begins at 1pm. Money raised will support the Arthur S. Robbins Hope Fund, which was created to help patients receive hospice care regardless of their ability to pay.

There are sponsorship opportunities available, which you can find here.

For more than 40 years, HopeHealth has provided hospice, palliative, home care, dementia and grief support services with compassion and respect.

Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance companies will cover hospice costs, but sometimes individuals have to pay at least a portion out-of-pocket, which can add up quickly, especially if a loved on is in hospice care for weeks or months.

Hospice care can add up

Americans spent $4.3 trillion on health care in 2021. It’s estimated that 10% of that was spent on end-of-life care and hospice costs. Hospice care costs in Rhode Island average about $153 a day. Monthly expenses average about $4,590.

Understanding hospice costs and other end-of-life options can help ease stress, and can add quality-of -life to the final days, weeks and months of a loved one.
