Memorial Funeral Home’s staff helped raise money for the Potter League for Animals on Sunday, October 24 th at Fort Adams in Newport, Rhode Island during the annual Heart & Sole walk.
Dog owners and their pets enjoyed pet contests including “Top Talent/Trick” and an egg race as well as other activities like face painting and collar toss starting at 10am. For anyone that was peckish, several food trucks were on site.
It was 32 nd annual walk, after last year’s walk was cancelled due to the pandemic.
According to the Potter League’s website, the “Heart & Sole Walk for Animals is our biggest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds helping to save the lives of thousands of animals in our community with programs such as foster care, spay/neuter, adoptions, animal rescue, affordable veterinary care and more.”
The funds raised by walkers is used to find homes for pets and provide much needed services to those who love them.
